Our History
Since its origins, THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL DE ARICA (T.I.S.A.) has been committed to providing a genuine and high-quality educational opportunity for students from the most underprivileged sectors of the region, which is why one of its defining features is being a free subsidized institution.
The school began its activities in 2008 with four Early Childhood Education classes, with a total enrollment of 45 students, eight teachers, and four technicians. In 2010, it adopted the curricula provided by the Ministry of Education and subsequently increased English class hours to five per week. In 2013, it joined the JEC extended-day program with Primary Education.
Due to high demand from parents and guardians, coverage was expanded to include Secondary Education. We hope to continue this challenging mission with the support of the entire educational community, shaping young people for today and the professionals of tomorrow.
Currently, it has its own English curricula from 1st through 8th grade of Primary Education, as well as an enrollment of over 570 students, from NT1 through 4th year of Secondary Education.

Mission
THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL ARICA is a humanist institution focused on developing individuals useful to society, promoting values such as respect and tolerance. Centered on the family, school environment, the natural environment, and regional and national traditions. Through English language teaching and new technologies, it seeks to develop meaningful learning, offering students tools and opportunities for academic, social, and professional integration, contributing to the construction of an equal, just, and supportive society.
Vision
We are an inclusive educational community that provides comprehensive education to the children of Arica through student-centered humanist education focused on achieving learning outcomes. We aim to develop students' 21st century competencies and skills, with emphasis on English language instruction and the use of new technologies, in a safe environment conducive to a healthy school community.

To prioritize communicational English development through our own programs as an essential tool in a globalized world, enabling students to interact effectively in international and multicultural contexts.
Health and Environmental Education
To promote education in Health and the Environment in order to generate and develop within our community a sustainable culture and policies in terms of physical activity, mental health, environmental awareness, and efficient use of resources.
21st Century Skills Development
To foster the development of 21st century skills and competencies as part of students' comprehensive education, with emphasis on digital literacy and the development of critical thinking.
Valuing Local Identity and Culture
To value identity, heritage, and local culture, strengthening the sense of belonging, while appreciating the richness of cultural diversity in the global community, promoting inclusive education for students.
